Greg Smith

Greg was appointed CMO in 2012 to develop the Co-op’s multi-channel marketing and digital strategy and build its e-commerce and membership value proposition. His role transitioned to that of CCO in 2014.

Since then he has helped to break new ground and transform the Co-op into a modern omni-channel retailer, spearheading its repositioning and rebranding and shaping it to become a customer-centric retailer. He also leads the team on the monetisation of the Co-op’s assets (brand, database and footprint) to create and deliver mobile, banking, super and health services to Members.

Greg has a wide industry background, which includes banking, marketing, retail, telecommunications, financial planning, wealth management and start-up operations. Previous experience includes anz.com; amaysim; founding Australia’s first retail financial cafĂ©, Westfield, CBA and ASX.

He has a double degree in Economics and Marketing, an MBA in International Marketing and is an adjunct university lecturer in Marketing.
