Justin is the founder of the Australian office of Hakluyt, a boutique global management consultancy providing business leaders with advice on major investment decisions.

He is well-known for his long history in politics and corporate advisory and was a recognised leader in the national government relations industry for almost two decades prior joining Hakluyt.

He was the long-serving managing director of lobbying and government relations strategy firm Hawker Britton, also managing its sister firm Barton Deakin. These companies are owned by WPP AUNZ Limited (earlier STW Group Limited), Australia’s largest diversified marketing firm where Justin undertook several other executive duties including sitting on the firm’s executive committee.

Justin holds a full-time MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of New South Wales where he won the prestigious Boston Consulting Group prize for corporate strategy and the Butterworths prize for business law. He also holds a first-class honours in political economics.

Prior to joining the private sector, Justin spent more than ten years as a political adviser to ministers and MPs in the federal parliament. He worked on Kim Beazley’s personal staff – during Beazley’s tenures as Minister for Finance, Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition – from 1994 to 1999.

He is an Associate Professor at UNSW’s Business School where he served as president of the Alumni Advisory Board and a member of the Business Advisory Council. He is the foundation chair of the Sydney Symphony Vanguard, a body engaging the next generation of philanthropists with the orchestra.
