Sir Martin Sorrell

International Keynote:
Sir Martin Sorrell

S4 Capital
Executive Chairman

Sir Martin Sorrell is Executive Chairman of S4 Capital, which is building a new age, new era, digital advertising and marketing services platform for global, multi-national, regional, local and millennially-driven clients.

Sir Martin was CEO of WPP for 33 years, building it from a £1 million “shell” company in 1985 into the world’s largest advertising and marketing services company with a market capitalisation of over £16 billion, revenues of over £15 billion, profits of approximately £2 billion and over 200,000 people in 113 countries. Prior to that, Sir Martin was Group Financial Director of Saatchi & Saatchi plc for 9 years and worked for James Gulliver, Mark McCormack and Glendinning Associates before that. S4 Capital PLC recently merged with MediaMonks and MightyHive, and is listed at the London Stock Exchange under SFOR.L.

Sir Martin supports a number of leading business schools and universities, including his alma mater, Harvard Business School and Cambridge University and a number of charities, including his family foundation. He is married to Lady Cristiana Falcone-Sorrell and has four children and seven grandchildren.

International Keynote:
Brent Hodgins

Mirren Business Development
Managing Director

Brent Hodgins is the Managing Director at Mirren, a firm that specializes in organic growth and new business training for agencies in digital, PR, advertising, promotions, experiential and design.

Each year, more than 700 agencies now participate in Mirren’s annual conferences, training programs and webinars. Brent has trained CEOs and their senior management teams in every major region around the world. He is highly competitive as he pushes himself, his Mirren team, and his clients to accept nothing less than a commitment to growth.

His approach to converting business is down to a science – strategic and methodical – but often contrarian. In fact, he believes you have no choice but to break many rules of prospecting and competitive reviews, as the process is purposely designed by clients to commoditize agencies. He also believes that agencies need to stop bowing down to clients and command the respect they deserve. “As soon as you put the client up on a pedestal, it’s a downward spiral from there. If you bring a high level of expertise to the table, then take a stand and command the respect you deserve.”

International Keynote:
Mark Cripps

The Economist
Global CMO

A second generation (his Father ran direct marketing for IBM in the 70’s & 80’s) and evangelical performance marketer, Mark has been immersed in the digital marketing space pretty much since its inception (online since 1984 in fact): working on both agency and client-side in Europe, USA and Asia.

Mark is CMO for The Economist – he’s worked for them based out of the USA and London. Now working out of New York, his main task is to oversee brand stewardship and marketing … ensuring that advertising and circulation revenues are optimised.

Immediately prior to joining The Economist, he was EVP Asia Regional Director at the advertising agency McCann Worldgroup (based out of Hong Kong). There, he was responsible for both the MRM/McCann network regionally and was also the digital marketing‘go-to’person across Asia.

He has managed the development of dozens of digital initiatives and advertising campaigns for many blue-chip organisations in his career including Adobe; Bank Santander; Diageo; General Motors; Google; Guinness World Records; HSBC; Intel; Microsoft; Stella Artois and Unilever (to name but a few).
