What’s left of Marketing after AI?

AI is penetrating all areas of our lives at a thrilling pace. The combination of big data, cloud computation, and breakthrough algorithms will continue to produce AI applications with dramatic impact on society. Marketing is particularly well-suited for AI because of the massive amount of user data that is being collected in real time, and because of the complex reasons why users convert. In this talk, I will discuss how AI came to play a critical role in online advertising, and what are some trends. To illustrate the current and future role of AI in marketing, I will provide examples from Oath’s Ad Platforms. In the process I’ll highlight the strengths and limitations of AI, and what I believe is the future role of your CMO.
